Volunteering application

Background

LevelUp Senior Tech Bridge offers free-to-affordable IT services, made possible by the dedication of our volunteer providers. Demands for our services are increasingly being requested by individuals, community centers, and senior living communities. We are seeking volunteers to support us in continuing to provide the timely, thorough, and personalized support we are recognized for.

We can schedule volunteer hours based on availability—whether weekly, monthly, or per term for students—and we also provide opportunities for unpaid internships. Our organization is flexible and can accommodate last-minute scheduling changes. We hope that volunteers can commit to a minimum of four hours per month to assist with in-home tech support services for our clients.

As a volunteer, you are not required to have a background in technical support whatsoever, or  have an expert level of technological prowess. The majority of issues our clients face are straightforward fixes for anyone who interacts with cell phones, televisions, tablets, printers, smart home devices, bluetooth and the internet regularly.  Complicated issues do come up where a greater level of experience is needed, and we assign those to volunteers who do have those skills. Our work is built on closing the digital divide between those who have spent the majority of their life engaging with technology and those who have not. Your donation of volunteer hours directly supports our commitment to expanding equal access to the digital world.

If you are interested in bolstering your experience in IT support, direct care, and the nonprofit sector, while building impactful and treasured connections with elder members of the Boulder community, please fill out the application form below.

What one of our volunteers has to say about their experience:

Volunteering  at LSTB was truly one of the most rewarding and deep experiences of my  life. Every time, I sat alongside remarkable individuals—retirees who had built families, careers, and entire communities—eager to share their experience even as they learned to understand unfamiliar technology.  Each story taught me everything from patience to personal fulfillment.  What struck me most was how each person’s “tech journey” was intertwined with their life journey: creating Facebook and WhatsApp accounts to reconnect with family; understanding email became a way to attend concerts to music they enjoyed. Under Pavel’s guidance, I learned not  just troubleshooting tips, but also listening and honoring decades of  experience while gently introducing new skills. Volunteering here helped me see that technology is just more than hardware and software.
